RAINDROPS lyric

Raindrops –

I’m counting the raindrops

and adding my teardrops

to the rhythm of the rain

outside my window

and here by my window

I wait through the morning

that was meant to be our day.

Until the raindrops

turned into my teardrops

and melted the love I thought I held

like summer raindrops.

I thought your love was true

as the sky of deepest blue;

But all it meant to you

was a game that quickly grew

into raindrops.

I’m counting the raindrops

and adding my teardrops

to the rhythm,

to the rhythm of the rain.

I like the way you repeat raindrops and teardrops, it really builds up the flow of the poem. Good write!
