CHRISTMAS LULA BYE Lyric c.2010

1.Rest, Gentle Mother, the little One is here.

Hold Him safe within your arms;

angels hover near.

Soothe Him with a lullaby, welcome Him with tears.

Wrap Him warm in swaddling clothes

and quiet all your fears.

2. Watch, faithful husband, strangers gather round;

come to see your newborn King,

kneel on holy ground.

Keep your dreaming open, be ready to obey.

Angels aren’t the only ones

who watch the Babe today.

3. Sleep, blessed Jesus, safe in Mary’s arms.

Nestle warm against her breast;

we’ll keep you from all harm.

Emanuel has come to us and we are not alone.

The Prince of Peace is sleeping here,

a manger for His throne.
